I Have An Award from Susan!

I have just become the proud receipient of an award from Stamping Tink (you're the best!). This is the first award I've received on my blog and I am so excited! Here is information about the award: This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement . Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who may then pass it on. I hope you will accept this award in friendship and know that you have inspired me. Thank you Susan, not only for this award but also for your friendship!

Two for Tuesday

I actually have two cards to show you today! I finished a card I was working on last night, "Christmas Magic". I love the scene on this stamp and my Basic Grey Wassail papers look beautiful with this. I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral oil. The poinsettias add just the right Christmas spirit! This is a departure from Copic markers for me. I am "forcing" myself to use different mediums. This was my first Sarah Kay card and I am sure it will not be my last!
My second card was made using Whiff of Joy's "Lizzie with Muff". I had a lot of fun with this one - I love using snowflakes! The paper I used is DCWV. I colored Lizzie with my Copic markers. These Whiff of Joy stamps are a "joy" to stamp with. The rubber is deep and gives a very crisp image.
I think Christmas cards are my favorite cards to design! Let me know what your favorites are!

Happy Birthday Tilda With Fall Attitude

I'm back after a long hiatus to show you my latest Magnolia creation. I spent last week with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Falls Church, VA. I had not seen my newest grandson since he was a month old and I needed lots of Gramie hugs and kisses! And to beat all, I leave and miss our first snow for the season! I did manage to bring home a cold and a few odds and ends from Michael's and A.C. Moore's.
I used Basic Grey's Ambrosia patterned paper, the colors are definitely Fall. I wanted one last hurrah with these beautiful colors. I can't recall ever making a birthday card with these colors before. Here she is:
Thanks for looking! I hope to have more cards to share with you tomorrow.

Believe - Tilda With Wreath

I wanted to make one more Tilda card today and I finally completed it! I have been wanting to use my Basic Grey Wassail papers and I love the colors I was able to select from my Copics to compliment my paper. I knew as soon as I saw this Tilda that I had to add her to my collection. I just received my new "Nestie" label die and this made a perfect backdrop for Tilda. Poinseittias from Prima add the finishing touch. My card measure 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". This was a recent sketch from Friday Sketchers. And... I don't want to forget to mention some great blog candy! Kristine is celebrating her blogoversary - 350 posts in one year! She designs for Friday Sketchers and is very talented. Visit her blog here. I will be following her blog from now on! Hope to post more cards later "today" (yes, it is after midnight!). Goodnight!

Winter Wonderland

Busy week! I made a birthday card, a get well card, a sympathy card and four Magnolia cards. My grandchildren spent Veteran's Day with me and they love to help "Gramie" make cards! The two girls always want to make a Magnolia card. The 8-year old is very talented - stamping crisp images and especially careful with her coloring. I created this card for my Magnolia-licious group November "raining cards" event. I used "Rowdy Tilda" and "Tree With Snow" stamps to create this wintery scene. I embossed the blue background with the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder. I used a Nestability die cut circle on the tree and added silver Stickles to bring out the snowflakes. My top border and landscape border were punched with a Fiskars snowflake border punch. Tilda and the tree were colored with copic markers. I actually made four duplicate cards and had fun with all of these! I prefer to cut out my Tilda and Edwin images and attach to my backgrounds.
Thanks for looking!

Visions of Sugar Plums........

I want to share with you today a card I made just for fun! I definitely have the Christmas spirit. I received this cute C. C. Designs set and it reminded me of Christmases when I was a little girl. Here is a photo of my card:

Christmas cards are so much fun to make! I used the Basic Grey Wassail papers and my copic markers to color.

Let It Snow!

The closer we get to Thanksgiving, the more I am thinking about winter and *snow*** I have been wanting to ink up my new Tilda, "Winter Sled". I had so much fun creating this layout! I spent the day Monday shopping at A.C. Moore and Michael's. There are such gorgeous holiday papers and embellishments on display! I think I could make Christmas cards all year long!

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like......

Christmas! It always seems like we are catapulted from Halloween right into Christmas. I can actually remember when Christmas was not advertised until after Thanksgiving! Maybe I am ahead of the game this year, my stamping buddies and I have been stamping Christmas cards to send to family and friends since July. My church choir director is also an early bird, she usually has our Christmas cantada music in hand, ready for us to start practicing before Fall! Now, I just can't wait to start posting some of my favorite cards of the season. The card below is from the Whiff of Joy Guardian Angel collection, "Melinda, Christmas Angel". This angel is going to be quite busy until Christmas! Stay tuned to my blog for more of my favorites.
