I made this card with a dual purpose. First, to say "Hi Tracy, thinking of you and Sugar Creek Hollow"! And second, as an anniversary card for my mom and dad's 60th wedding anniversary which was July 29th. The Sugar Creek DT took a summer vacation, but will be back in full force in September! I have seen the new fall images and they are fabulous!
This is my vintage dogwood card. Instead of a "Hallmark moment", I created a "Sugar Creek Hollow " moment. I paper pieced the dogwood flowers with Basic Grey "Green Hearts". My background DP is also BG which I distressed along with the pink card stock from SU. I embossed and sanded my chocolate panel and just had to add some lace.

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - "Walking In a Winter Wonderland"
"Snowmen Do Laundry" even if they're "Walking In a Winter Wonderland" - couldn't resist that play on words! This week the challenge at Pixie Dust Studio is to create a card using navy, white/ivory, silver/gray. I chose Kathy's cute snowman for this challenge and pulled out my Cuttlebug and embossed away!
I used a smidgen of DP from DCWV, as well as their green for my trees. I cut triangles for the trees and then embossed, sanding afterwards to highlight the circles. I also added a village, snow and clouds all embossed. The snowflake adornment on my ribbon was cut with a Spellbinders die and embossed.
Thanks for visiting today and be sure to visit the other Pixies and see their creations! They're listed on my sidebar.

Tossa Frog
It's my turn again to show you my latest Paper Jewels creation! I used "Tossa Frog" for my image today - she's just chilling in the frog pond on a hot lazy Summer day. And boy oh boy, has it ever been hot here in NC! Our temperatures are in the triple digits!
I used DCWV design paper, SU card stock and Copic markers.
Be sure and come back tomorrow and see another creation by our design team!

Sending Well Wishes
One of my passions is our church's greeting card ministry. This summer one of our youth completely shattered his kneecap while riding a jet ski. Well, I did not have that image, but I thought "Skater Ian" from TGF would be a "cool" card to send him.
He is recuperating nicely, except for the restrictions on the rest of his summer. I used Basic Grey DP and SU and DCWV card stock. Ian is colored with Copics.
Stay cool and be safe! Thanks for visiting today!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #63
I have a fabulous image to share with you today from Priscilla Styles. Priscilla recently created and added this oil lamp to her shop, and I just had to create my latest challenge card with this fabulous oil lamp. I have a lamp sitting on my dining room table very similar. It belonged to my great grandfather. Here is the sketch I followed this week and here is my creation:
I had so much fun creating this! I used Basic Grey's new Capella design paper and SU card stock. I added lots of lace and made all my flowers. After coloring my oil lamp with Copics, I added a coat of Diamond Glaze.
Thanks for visiting today and stay cool!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - Create A Gift Card Holder
I am really enjoying all the Christmas in July themes this month! Today Pixie Dust Studio has an exciting challenge for you, "Create A Gift Card Holder". After wracking my brain, I really had a lot of fun with this one. I could not choose between Claire and the Nutcracker so I used both! My gift card holder also doubles as an ornament. Gee, I could give everyone gift cards this year and decorate my tree at the same time!
I'll bet you're wondering, "how this can be a gift card holder"? Here is a view of the back of my "ornaments":
I also had an opportunity to recycle all the old coasters I've collected from restaurants, I knew they would come in handy one day.

Paper Jewels Wednesday
It's another gorgeous Wednesday and time for me to share another Paper Jewels creation with you today. I chose a new, never before inked Sweet Pea stamp designed by Lisa Victoria, "Storytime".
I went a little crazy with the layers, all my layers with the exception of my card stock are from DCWV. I embossed with my Cuttlebug, added rafia lace and pearl dewdrops. My image is colored with Copics and a bow adds the final touch.
Thanks for visiting! Be sure to visit my team mate's blogs to see their creations this week, they're listed on my sidebar.

The Nutcracker Collection
Today's the day! Pixie Dust Studio is releasing their newest collection, "The Nutcracker" here. This is one of my favorite Christmas stories and ballet performances. I created a double pocket card to celebrate this fabulous release:
And here is a full view of my tags:
The pocket card worked out just great so I could use images of Claire, the Mouse King and the Nutcracker. These images would also make great Christmas ornaments! Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the other Pixie's blogs to see their Nutcracker creations!

Sneak Peak Alert! Presenting "The Nutcracker" from Pixie Dust Studio
Tomorrow is the big release day at Pixie Dust Studio... "The Nutcracker"! Here is a sneak peak of the Sugar Plum fairy to whet your appetite!
I thought she would look lovely "framed", so I made a recessed window card which is easy peasy if you pop over to Splitcoaststampers for their tutorial. I bought some new DP from the Graphics 45 "Christmas Past" collection. My border was cut with a Martha Stewart border punch, "Modern Garland" - how fitting! I added Prima poinsettias, a tiny bit of green tulle and "wheatgrass" Country Crinkle Ribbon.
I think Karen did a fantastic job designing this entire collection! Tomorrow all of "The Nutcracker" little cuties will be available in this newest collection from Pixie Dust Studio.
Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the other Pixie's blogs for more sneak peaks! Just check out my sidebar for more eye candy!

I have another Christmas card to show you today! Wow, everything is about Christmas in July this month, my absolute favorite holiday. Our host for this month is Robyn's Fetish. Melanie challenged us with this sketch:
I took a few liberties and added die cuts and an ornate frame.
My sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps and I used Copics for my coloring.

Ladybug, ladybug, fly away...
This reminds me of so much of the childhood rhyme, I just couldn't resist using this as my title for my post today. This is a fabulous digi from Victoria Case, "Ladybug Sitter".
The image looks so much like my granddaughter Emma, and her birthday theme was "ladybugs"! Now how neat is that? The party was wonderful and she has definitely learned how to reach out for her presents!

With Sympathy
This is a card I made for a dear friend whose sister recently passed away. I wanted a "manly" sympathy card and this set "Keep My Lamp Burning" was perfect from Our Daily Bread Designs.
I live near the beach, so I especially love the lighthouses that ODB has to offer. I did add an anchor which did not come with the set because I just felt like expressing that Jesus is also an anchor. I used jute to create my rope design tied to the anchor.
My design paper is from Basic Grey "Granola" plus two narrow strips from Pink Paislee's "Queen Bee" collection. I was taught to never, ever throw away usable scraps! I embossed SU card stock and distressed all my layers. All card stock used was from SU.

Rose Mimosa
I get to share one of my newest Mimosa stamps with you today from Paper Jewels! I fell in love with Rose Mimosa the minute I saw her. I love the little girl images from Bildmalarna and I love flowers, so how perfect!
I used the new Cosmo Cricket Delovely design paper and SU card stock. Of course, I had to add some Prima roses! A satin bow just adds the final touch.

Happy Fishing Birthday!
I wanted to share with you a card I made for a dear friend's birthday. It's belated of course, with my schedule here lately. He is an avid fisherman and a fabulous wood carver, his speciality? Ducks of course! That's why the little duck is tucked into the corner of the image.
I just love the ability to choose the perfect image for those special friends and family. Digis make this possible almost instantaneously! Not to say I don't love my rubber and acrylics, but sometimes you just need something you don't have in your stash.
