Magnolia Fever?

Well, it appears I have caught Magnolia fever again! I can't seem to stop creating cards with the new images from the "Catching Butterflies" collection. This is another one of my favorite Edwins. I think what I like so much about this Edwin is the fact he has been caught in action chasing an elusive butterfly. I designed my card to show the butterfly sitting on top of my bow.
I used Copics for coloring and DCWV's Spring Stack dp. The corner embellishments are from a Sizzlit die and the butterfly from a MS punch. My cardstock is SU's certainly celery.
Would love to hear your comments!

Chasing Butterflies Anyone?

Where do the hours in the day go? I had planned to create this card earlier today and update my blog, but here it is...almost 10 p.m. at night. I am really thrilled with the new Magnolia Spring kit, "Chasing Butterflies"! I used my copics again and dp from DCWV's Whimsey collection. The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear your comments!

Butterfly Tilda

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I vowed I would create and post a Magnolia card today and here it is. I'm not sure of the real name, but this little gal is part of the new Spring kit that was just released. I think this is one of the cutest kits ever. I spent most of my time today mounting this kit and other unmounted stamps I had on ez mount foam. I tend to procrastinate until I have a bunch to mount. I cut out some of my adhered stamps with a hot knife and this morning I just had to touch one of my fingers on the wrong spot and "ouch"! More about my card - I colored her with copics (my standard with Magnolia's) and used DCWV's blossoms and butterflies mat stack for my DP. Tilda is mounted on "nested flowers". I used my cuttlebug to emboss and cut the flowers and outlined the larger flower with a gold leaf pen. The small butterfly is also in the Spring kit. I also used candlelight shimmerz on Tilda's wings. I do have a sentiment under Tilda entitled "joy". Sorry about the shadow, but I was late finishing and daylight had disappeared! I don't know about you, but I lose all track of time which I'm upstairs in my craft room. I'd love to hear your comments!

Is This Your Egg?

I just love this Magnolia Edwin, how cute that he seems to be asking the hen if this is "her" egg! I think he is now my favorite Edwin. I used DCWV whimsy DP as well as their card stock, my cuttlebug, Martha Stewart checkerboard border punch and colored with my copics. What is your current favorite Magnolia?
I got into a cleaning frenzy in my craft room and spent most of last night and this morning digging out from under. DH says I have too much stuff - I say I need more room, LOL! I did some rearranging and I must say it looks a whole lot better. I just can't concentrate when I'm surrounded by clutter. Hopefully I can get my mojo back now. I hope everyone has a great weekend and happy stamping!

I Have An Easter Card To Show You!

I am so excited that I have a new card on my blog! It feels like I have not made a card in forever. I did stamp some images while on vacation and finally got busy last night and created this card - Easter is right around the corner!
This little darlin' is Elle the Easter Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS). I received her just before my vacation and then found the cutest design paper from DCWV to use - the cardstock is from SU.
I colored her with Copics and also used my Cuttlebug and Nestabliities. I decided I wanted to try and use all the "scraps" I had available, so I trimmed my leftover DP and cardstock and also used my MS doiley border punch to decorate the inside of my card. The scalloped area is actually where I cut with my nestie scallop oval die and the sentiment is from Verve.
Would love to hear your comments!
Secondly, I just have to show you a beautiful card I received for my birthday from a wonderful friend I want to introduce to you, mmgirl. She has just started her blog and and would love to have some visitors! Please take a look at her beautiful card and then hop on over to her blog and say hello! She has done a fantastic job on Groovy Girl...
We constantly inspire one another and also "enable" each other when it comes to buying any and everything for card making!

I'm Back Home!

I am rested, restored and back from a wonderful vacation on the "peaceful side of the Smokies". DH and I spent a wonderful week in Townsend, TN and made frequent visits to one of our favorite parks, Cades Cove. I wanted to share just a few photos I shot in the park:
The deer look very sleek, well fed and are not camera shy at all!
There are peaceful streams, and then there are

rapidly tumbling streams which entice all the river rafters.

I did find some time for another one of my favorite pursuits... shopping! Let's see, there was Archiver's, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby and Your Scrapbook Superstore. Sorry I don't have any new cards to show you right now, but I sure have plenty of supplies to get back to work with!

Check back later and I'm sure to have some new cards up!

Vacation Time - But First a New Lockhart

I love the new Basic Grey Marrakech collection and I especially like the designs with some of my Lockhart stamps. I created this card using "Flowers in Chintz" while I should having been packing for my vacation!

I had stamped and colored the image earlier so it did not take long to come up with a design and put this together. I have been so busy catching up on Magnolia cards for my group on Yahoo this week. I still had to complete February's cards and make cards for this month. Well...I am so happy and relieved to say that 8 cards will be going out in the mail tomorrow morning - yay!!!

We will be vacationing in Townsend, TN for a week. I love visiting nearby Cades Cove. Most of our time is spent there taking photographs, hiking and exploring the early settler's cabins. This will be the first time we've been there in cold weather, so I'm also taking plenty of books, stamps and my Prismacolors.

I'll be checking your blogs and making some posts while I'm gone!

Got Faeries?

I have had this cute little stamp for some time and I finally created a card with her. She is "Sassafras" from the Faerie Song Art Stamps line carried in Susanna's store. I colored her with Copics and used Shimmerz on her wings. The DP is from DCWV's "Once Upon A Time" and the sentiment was cut with my Slice. As a child, I devoured books. One of my favorite books was "East of the Sun and West of the Moon", a collection of Norwegian fairy tales. I guess I have been smitten most of my life!

A New Tilda Card To Share

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, our weather in sunny Carolina was a balmy 80 degrees today! I did take time to enjoy the beautiful weather and also spend a little time in my craft room creating cards and playing "catch-up". I inked up Tilda With/Hood for the first time and used some of my TAC design paper, "Sands of Time". I wasn't too sure how this would turn out - this is not the usual style of paper I use with Magnolia's. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

A Lockhart To Share

I have not posted a card using flowers in such a long time! I decided it was time to ink up this "Hydrangea and Berries" stamp. I love hydrangeas and I also love stoneware, especially any made in shades of blue. I have a mixing bowl and larger pitcher made of stoneware that was my great grandmother's

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils, used DP from Basic Grey's Euphoria collection and cardstock from SU and DCWV. I cut out my shapes with the round and square nesties and used an EK Success punch to create my border on the edge of my card. The ribbon is from American Craft.

Hope you will leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite Lockhard stamp is!

Magnolia March Sketch Challenge And A Sugar Nellie

I can't remember the last time I entered a sketch challenge! I am just thrilled to have the time now to create and submit an entry. I chose Baking Tilda because I have this "sweet" design paper from DCWV which is called..."The Sweet Collection". I had so much fun creating this card! I knew I wanted it to be really bright. I've had this multicolor ribbon for some time and this is the first opportunity I've had to use it. I colored Tilda with copics and I used a MS punch for my hearts. The label and oval were cut with nesties. Let me know what you think! Let me show you one more card before I finish my post! I had inked up this Sugar Nellie some time ago, but had never finished creating a card. I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and used Basic Grey design paper. The cardstock and ribbon are from SU. All the punched embellishments except the swirls were made with my MS punches. "Postbox" was created by Elisabeth Bell and is sold by Funky Kits under their Sugar Nellie line of stamps. Happy stamping!

Chick-a-Dee for Easter?

Well March certainly came in roaring like a lion this morning! No snow in sight, only torrential rains all day. This was perfect weather to ink up a cheerful and bright card. Chick-a-Dee is an Elizabeth Bell creation and is available from Funky Kits under their line of Sugar Nellie stamps. The little chick reminded me so much of Easter that this is the direction my design took me. I colored with my copics and used my cuttlebug, nesties and MS border punch. The dp is from Cosmo Cricket and the yellow cardstock is from PTI. I wanted to stamp the inside flap with my sentiment and then have it folded so Chick-a-Dee could still be seen. I was able to to secure the flap with DMC thread. I'm not particularly thrilled with this, but I did not give myself very much area to work with. I'd love to hear your comments and have you share any techniques that would help! Hope to post a new Magnolia card tomorrow!
