Raining Cards Tilda: Tilda in Falling Leaves

Guess I'm trying to make up for being absent for so long. I wanted to share a picture of the Tilda card(s) I made for the month of October for my "Raining Cards" submission. I belong to the Yahoo group, Magnolia-licious. If you love Magnolias, this is the place for you!

LATEST DISCOVERY!

While on vacation, I managed to wangle visits to Michael's, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby and my newest find ------ ARCHIVERS! I absolutely love this store! They only carry scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies, which to me is a plus. Archivers' coordinates their papers, embellishments and themes in separate areas so you don't have to run back and forth trying to match things. I found some of the newest supplies there which I usually have to order over the internet. I stocked up on Christmas papers (I'm a paper freak) and embellishments. The only downside is that the closest store to me is in Raleigh NC, which is close to 200 miles from here. Sounds like a girlfriends weekend once and a while!

Well, better run, I am still settling in and putting my house in order (so I can get back to stamping!).

Fall Vacation - Color Explosion!

I can't believe I've been gone for so long! We had a fabulous vacation in Boone, NC. Dh and I left on the 17th and returned home on the 27th. The mountains were absolutely gorgeous! We arrived at the peak of the explosion of fall colors and my trusty camera went everywhere I did. Here are some photos I want to share:
This was the first time I've been when the leaves were at their peak color and it was well worth it!

While Everyone Else is Sleeping...

I thought this was an apt title for my post today. I confess, I'm awake at 2:30 a.m.! I'm just too excited about finally going on vacation and I also have some extra adrenalin from stamping with my buddies earlier in the evening. I can't believe it has been a whole year since dh and I took a vacation. We are going to cast an early vote and then head towards Boone, NC. This is peak season for the leaves turning color in the mountains. I have all my camera gear packed and my laptop (of course!). I finished my October Raining Cards for my Yahoo Group, Magnolia-licious. These will go out in the mail today. I just had to ink up Edwin's Snowman and I finished this card also:

Maybe I am already experiencing separation anxiety - vacation means no craft room, no stamps!

Hopefully, I will have some good photos to post in the next few days.

Happy stamping! I think it's already beginning to look like Christmas in my craft room!

Christmas Anyone?

I have been wanting to ink up my newest Edwin stamp, I'm getting excited about Christmas already! This was just so much fun to create. I decided to make a gate card and chose to emboss my background as snowflakes with my Cuttlebug. I then went a little embossing crazy and embossed a background for Edwin and two other snowflakes for embellishments.
And.....my payment for the Magnolia winter collection has posted, yippee! I hope to have these new little darlings in my hands soon. I can see late nights in my future...
Here is a picture of my Christmas Edwin:

This is how the inside of my card looks:

Well, now I need to create a card with Tilda to compliment my Christmas Edwin! Thanks for looking and happy stamping!

A New Magnolia Tilda and More

I can't believe it has been a whole week since I have posted. I have been totally swamped with all kinds of demands on my time lately. I have to agree with my husband that once you retire you do not get vacation time nor do you get any days off, LOL! I do want to post a different color paper I used for the "Cross Stitch Tilda" made for September's raining cards in my Yahoo group, Magnolia-Licious. I also made two birthday cards, one for a dear friend, "Tilda With Birthday Cake" and another I made for my granddaughter's birthday:

Cross Stitch Tilda

Tilda With Birthday Cake, for my dear friend Gretchen

Happy Birthday Angie

My mother turns 86 on October 13 and I made a birthday card for her from Papertrey's "Women of Life" set. I consider myself extremely fortunate to still have my mother and father here with me. My retirement was a "God thing" since they both experienced health problems soon after I retired. I want to wish everyone a wonderful weekend and happy stampin'! Marsha

Happy Friday!

Hello everyone and Happy Friday! I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted. Last weekend was devoted to hosting my first Angel Company open house. I think everyone had a wonderful time and I know I enjoyed sharing all the beautiful products and helping my first time stampers. I absolutely love sharing and learning new techniques!
I think the stage was set for my busy week on Monday when I had to spend the day helping my uncle with his outpatient surgery. That in itself was not so bad, it was just having to pick him up by 5:00 a.m. The surgery went well, which is quite an accomplishment when you are 88 years old! It seemed like I've been running all week!
I would like to post the Tilda card I sent out for the "raining card" event I participate in every month with my Magnolia-licious group. We have a group and four members are chosen every month to receive cards. There are some very awesome cards sent out!

I also worked on a Christmas card which has the most beautiful snowflake spinner I've ever seen! I received my inspiration from Jak Heath - you can see her original card on her blog, http://crafterskitchen.blogspot.com/2008/08/snowflake-spinner-tutorial.html. Here is my version:

Thanks for looking!
