Crafters of Faith February Blog Hop

Good morning!  It's once again time for our Crafters of Faith Blog Hop.  Tami is hosting our challenge this month and she gave us three requirements:

1.  Use a scoring tool
2. NO Valentine theme, not even pink, white and red
3.  Add an image and a sentiment

Well, the scoring tool was not a problem and I knew I could come up with a different color scheme.  The hardest part was picking out my image and sentiment.  Up on the shelf "calling my name" was my Upsy Daisy Stamin Up set and here's my creation:

I used Stampin Up cardstock and ribbon from my stash.  Distress inks and a touch from a Prismacolor pencil completed my palette.  If you look closely, you can see my scores made with my Scor Buddy.  I decided to go with CAS which I don't do very often.  Please take a moment and visit my blogging sister's blogs and see their creations.   They are listed on my sidebar.

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate your support and love reading all your comments!

Celebrate!

Getting ready to celebrate Easter next month.  This little egg from Whimsy and Stars Studio is certainly enthusiastic!  There will be Easter baskets, Easter bonnets and little chicks and bunnies given away this time of the year.  Of course, the most important gift was given by Christ.  He died on the cross so we could be saved by grace.

So, get on your dancing shoes and celebrate this most wonderful holiday!  We should rejoice each and every day and be thankful for all of our blessings.

I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog today and that my card put a little smile on your face.  I love reading your comments and appreciate all the kind words and support!

Easter Blessings

It won't be long before Easter is here, in fact last Wednesday was the beginning of Lent which will run until March 30th.   Easter is on March 31st this year.  Lent defined is a special time of prayer, penance, sacrifice and good works in preparation of the celebration of Easter.  A lot of people fast during this time, giving up things which they really enjoy.  I am involved in a Bible study series and we were all encouraged to journal daily.  I decided to journal again emphasizing my daily gratitudes.  I find it absolutely impossible to feel blue or complain when I'm concentrating on my blessings!

I have a special Easter card to share with you today.  This adorable lamb is the creation of Maybelle R. O., owner of Whimsy and Stars Studio and can be found here.

Easter Egg Lamb

This is such a cute image to design with!  I received some new design paper from Bo Bunny "Very Vintage Double Dot Pad"  and paired this up with some paper from my stash.  My sentiment is from Sweetly Scrapped and matched my colors!  I added trim with a Martha Stewart punch and my flowers were created with a SU punch.  I colored my lamb with Copics and sponged with distress inks.

What are you doing for Easter this year?  I can remember dressing up every Easter Sunday with a new dress, hat, gloves and patent leather shoes to wear to church.  I couldn't wait to get home and return to my play clothes!  And of course there was that much anticipated, waited for Easter basket.   My favorite treat was the little marshmallow chicks and bunnies.

Wishing you a blessed week!  Thanks for visiting my blog today and would love to hear from you!

Sending You...

Brrrrrrr!  It sure is cold outside today.  We were hit with a winter storm coming up from the South last night which left some snow and extremely cold weather today.  By the time I came home from church, all the snow had melted but there is definitely a chill in the air.  This was a great day to stay indoors by the fireplace.  But before I snuggled down,  I decided to make a fun card using some digi's from Create with TLC's "Top Banana" collection.

Sending You A Bunch Of Good Wishes

Basic Grey design paper, burlap ribbon, SU scallop punch and Copic markers

This would make a nice "manly" card so I'll be sending it to someone soon.  Have a great Sunday and stay warm!

Friends Are Your Umbrella

What a wonderful saying, and so true!  Life would be a lot harder and certainly not as much fun without my friends.  I must say I am enjoying them more and being a better friend since I retired.   Being a full time mom and pursuing a career did not leave me hardly any time for friends when I was younger.  Now that I'm retired, I am able to see what I've been missing!

I would like to show you a new card using "Friends Are Your Umbrella" from Create with TLC.

Friends Are Your Umbrella digi set from TLC, lace and ribbon from my stash,
Webster's Pages Ladies & Gents and Trendsetter petite papers,
Copic and Distress ink markers

So, give your friends a big hug today and thank God for his blessings.

My Best Friend

I decided to make a card today in honor of my best friend, "Mollie".   She greets me excitedly every morning, whether I'm late or not, to feed her and turn her out.  I'm entertained whenever I toss her ball as she cavorts and prances around every time she makes a catch.  I never worry about having company when I'm sitting on my swing, she always jumps up beside me, taking more than her fair share of the seating area.

Every child is always greeted with a wagging tail and a kiss if she can get away with it.  And if they can toss her the ball, she will keep them occupied until either she or they drop to the ground in utter exhaustion.   Unknown adults are properly barked at until I make introductions, then she is begging for a good scratch.

Mollie and my cat Tink "tolerate" one another.  Tink sits and glares ar Mollie and I when we are playing ball or spending time together on the porch.  Mollie sits quietly in her fenced yard and observes Tink and I when she is getting her "kitty love",  eyes asking "is it my turn yet"?

She endures my singing and patiently listens to me when I share my sorrows.  Each day is a celebration of life in her book, full of adventure and possibilities.  No matter how I'm feeling, she always brightens my day.

My "Star Bright" sentiment is from Create with TLC.  The satin ribbon is from my stash.
