Got Snow?

For all of you folks still "enjoying" the big chill of all the recent snowstorms, this is just the cutest digi from Shirleys2Girls. I colored with my Copics, used a Snow Marker and sponged the edges of my image with SU Cool Caribbean. The design paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses - one of my all time favorite Christmas papers.
This was such a fun image to work with, that I also decorated the following tin:
This time I used design paper from Imaginisce's "So Beary Merry", and besides my satin bow, a little bit of lace to dress it up. The "fur" on the penguin's cap is from my Marvy Snow Marker and really shows up well in this photo.
Thanks for visiting, and stay warm (brrrr)!

Bronte and Bella

I finally found a few minutes to make a card today. I still have my daughter, SIL and four grandchildren here at my house. This is a great, fun time and we manage to stay quite busy. I got up early while the house was still quite and colored my image. Then, during nap time I was able to complete my card. It is after 10 p.m. and I once again have some quiet time to upload this card and update my blog.
This is another adorable Mo Manning digi, "Bronte and Bella on the Tobaggan". Sorry I do not have a list of what I used this time, I'm just lucky to get this posted all in one piece, LOL! Thanks for visiting!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I feel so fortunate that I can still say "Merry Christmas"! It always sounds "off" to me when someone wishes me "Happy Holidays". I have been working my poor little fingers to the bone creating a lot of "thingies" for some upcoming design team calls. I will wait and show you my latest Christmas images after the DT calls are over. I do have a birthday card to share. My precious grandson Caleb turns eight on December 27th. I still like to tell him how I bought his Hallmark ornament that year just knowing it would be his first Christmas, well he sure played a joke on all of us! Here is his card:
This is "Skater Ian" from The Greeting Farm. I have used Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird design paper. I used my Copics to color but it was just too hectic today to write down the colors. I will be adding the sentiment, "Great Skates" "Caleb's Eight!".
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve and a fabulous Christmas day tomorrow. Thanks for visiting!

Shirleys2Girls Challenge #36 and Design Team Call

Cheers to You! This is the name of the image I used to create my entry for Shirleys2Girls latest challenge, "Happy Holidays" which ends 12 midnight PST. We followed a sketch and the "twist" was to use glitter or bling on your card. Well, I sure got into the bling mode! I'm going to also submit this card to S2G for the design team call which is open until December 20th. Please check out my entry below:
I used "Jolly By Golly" design paper from Cosmo Cricket and SU card stock. My "bling" was completed by a wired gold bow and teeny Christmas tree ornaments. I used a "Snowmarker" to add the poofy look to the fur around the Santa hat and pom pom's on the slippers. My coloring was with the following Copic markers:
The unmarked colors are: BG23, BG34, G07, C3, R59, R38 and R17. I used a gold Spica pen to color the jewelry.

Whimsie Wednesday Challenge #10

I just completed my entry for Whimsie Doodle's Challenge #10. The name of the challege is "Cookies for Santa". The requirements are to use a cookie shape and a Whimsie Doodle image. I used circles and I added the cutest "Ginger Muffin Top" and sentiment to go with my cookies!
I used Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses design paper and SU cardstock. I cut my cirlcles out with my nestabilities and the large snowflake with a Spellbinder's die and the smaller flakes with a Marvy punch. I added dew drops for candy sprinkles on the muffin top and to accentuate the smaller snowflakes. I used Copic Ciao markers: R17, R22, R59, G14, G17, YG23 and YG00 and the sketch markers shown in my photo. I am slowly replacing all my Ciao's with sketch markers.

Crafty Critter Challenge #14

I decided to create a card for the current Crafty Critter Challenge using LSC249 from SCS, White Christmas. This sounded like a lot of fun and a real "challenge"! Here is my entry:
I used SU's Patterned Pines and Just Rite's Christmas Joy stamps. I embossed my card stock with a cuttlebug folder I ordered from a QVC special and my stamps were embossed in gold.

Softpencil Challenge 10

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to post the card I created for Softpencil Challenge 10. This is "Looking For My Friend" but I have titled it "Merry Christmas". I colored my image with Copics - sorry I don't have the list with me - I'm in a coffee shop because my internet has been down all day - "drat"!!! Anyway, I do remember that the design paper is from Imaginese and Basic Grey "Eskimo Kisses". I used a "Snow Marker" from Marvy Uchilda and also Shimmerz. My image is mounted on a pendant dye from Spellbinders. My ribbon is from SU and dew drops were used to embellish the pendant.
Thanks so much for visiting! I hope to have my internet back tomorrow so I can visit everyone's blogs.

I Won A Challenge!

I am just so excited! This is the very first challenge I have ever won and what a heady experience! I posted earlier a card I created for Softpencil's Challenge #9. I must say, that Elizabeth Pujalka's digital designs are so darn cute and unique that they just lend themselves to creativeness. This has really made my day and I can't wait to get back to my craft room! Thank you Elizabeth for the award and the awesome talent you share through your digis.

What A Long Weekend!

Sorry I haven't posted recently. I left last Thursday morning for Falls Church, Va and only arrived back home on Monday evening. My oldest granddaughter, Olivia (nine), was in a concert Sunday evening with the Fairfax Choral Society. The performance was outstanding. There were two youth choirs and one adult choir.
The rest of the time I hung out with my daughter and the other three grandchildren ranging in age from seven to sixteen months. We went to the National Zoo on Friday and had a great afternoon. I was specifically asked to bring my card making "stuff". So although I did not have an opportunity to create any cards, I did want to share photos of the cards my grandchildren created:
The first was created by Caleb, age 7. This is Lily Snowflake Fairy by Pink Cat Digital Studios:
The second was created by Sophia, age 3. This is Christmas Holly Fairy by Mo Manning:
The third was created by Olivia, age 9. This is Gingerbread Cookie by Digital Images:
And, I could not resist showing you a photo of the grandkids taken at the zoo:

Happy Thanksgiving and a JustRite Christmas

First, I want to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving. This is such a wonderful time to give thanks for all our blessings and to be with loved ones. Of course, not only does the turkey get stuffed - there are so many delicious culinary creations to enjoy! This year I am blessed to be invited to my daughter's for Thanksgiving. So... I had a little time to create a card this morning.
The day after Thanksgiving officially launches Christmas for me, and I just love creating Christmas cards! I decided to see what I could create with Justrite's "A Merry Little Christmas" set. I saw one of Becca Feeken's cards where she used a wired ribbon and I had to give this a try. I stamped my image and then cut and embossed the image and adhered it to the coordinating scalloped nestability. I mounted my ribbon and image on Spellbinder's pendant die, Kaleidoscope. I then cut two Spellbinder's "Fancy Tags" dies to enhance my pendant. My "Joy" sentiment is from a Martha Stewart punch. Dew drops add the final embellishing touch. My design paper is from Basic Grey's "Wassail" collection.
My "bells" were colored with the following Copic colors: YR23, YR21, Y38, Y17, R59, R46, R29, G14 and G05. I used red and gold Atyou Spica pens to add a little glitter, but I don't think it shows up in my photo.

Muffin for Christmas

When I saw this image and the cute sentiment, I immediately thought "I have to have this"! I can hardly resist all the fabulous Christmas stamps and digis this year. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love creating Christmas cards. This digi was so much fun to work with and is from Whimsie Doodles. I chose Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses design paper and SU card stock. My satin ribbon is Purely Pomegranate, also from SU. I cut my sentiment out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four. My "muffin" is colored with Copics.
I really like using the combination of aqua and pomegranate. Thanks for visiting!

Snow Much Fun!

Well, this is one for the road - or should I say one before I get on the road! We're off to pick up my sister-in-law and brother-in-law for the Thanksgiving holidays. We have a 4 - 5 hour drive and we're staying over night. I so wanted to create one more card before we left, so I grabbed up this little cutie from Pink Cat Digital Studio, "Betty Candy Cane". I selected Basic Grey's "Eskimo Kisses" design paper and combined this with SU card stock and added a bow using SU ribbon. The snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart and a Marvy punch. I colored "Betty" with my Copics.
My husband keeps asking me when I am going to start on our Christmas cards - I am just having so much fun creating cards for my blog! I guess I will have to start soon.

Love To Read?

Do you love to read? I am an avid reader although I seem to spend more time stamping, LOL! I am currently reading "New Moon" and yes, I know I am behind on reading this stupendous series. I always find myself looking for a bookmark, kinda like my glasses - they always find a way to disappear. I found this great tutorial for bookmarks and decided I wanted to try my hand at making some. I know there are many tutorials for making these and I cannot remember where I saw the instructions for this one, but my bookmark is based on a 5" square. I've tried other patterns and this works best for me. Of course, I had to add extras! I decided I wanted a ribbon on mine and I actually use two ribbons. Then I have to add embellies, I love to layer!
My design paper is from Basic Grey and the card stock is from my stash. I always save my scraps and they do come in handy for making these bookmarks. The ribbon is just odds and ends from one of my local craft stores. The branches are from MS and the poinsettia is from the Spellbinders.

A Little Sugar Anyone?

Sugar Nellie, that is (he he). I was trying to decide on which image to use for a friend's upcoming birthday and I found this in my stash. I colored this image a while ago and even went as far as to create the background, but never used this for a card. My dh always asks me, "what are you saving these for"? Well... that was a good question, so I decided I should listen to him - just this once (don't tell him!).
This little stamp is called "Postbox" and I purchased this from Funkykits. I believe the DP is Basic Grey and the card stock is SU mellow moss. I used an EK Success punch for my swirlies and a MS punch for the hydrangea. This little gal was colored with my Prismacolors.

Just A Simple Card

This is one of the cards I made for our card ministry. I wanted to keep it "simple" and masculine. The images are from Papertrey Ink's anniversary collection "Simple Little Things".
The card stock is Papertrey Ink's dark chocolate and the design paper is from DCWV's safari collection. I used Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink for the sentiment and stamped images.

Bear and Robin

What a busy weekend! I've been making lots of cards and getting ready to help our youth at church make 20 cards tonight for Agape boxes. I have precut all the paper so all they have to do is stamp, score and tie a little ribbon.
Now... it is time for me to show you my latest creation. I finally got my hands on this Gillian Robert's stamp from Stampavie. It is out of stock in most of the internet stores I "frequent".
I used Basic Grey's newest Christmas collection, "Eskimo Kisses" for my design paper. I mounted my image on Spellbinder's pendant die, "Fleur de Lis". I made my snowflake embellie and my satin ribbon is from Stampin Up. Bear and Robin are colored with Copics and I really worked hard on my coloring for this image.

Another Thanksgiving Tilda

I have one more Tilda card to share with you before I retire her for the Thanksgiving holiday. I used Papertrey Ink First Fruits collection design paper as my backgroud and SU's mellow moss card stock. Tilda is colored with copics. She is such a cutie! I'm going to have to ink up some more of my Magnolia images.
