Stay Tuned!

Hello my dear blogging buddies.  Sorry I have not been around the last two days,  my dad is undergoing chemo and radiation therapy, and things have just been crazy!  I may be late posting and skip a day now and then until August when he takes his last treatments, just bear with me!

Stay tuned tomorrow for a sneak peak from Pixie Dust Studio's "Jammin' Out" collection and a "Red White and Blue" challenge.  I'll have a card for both posted on my blog - promise!

Happy Birthday Olivia!

I just had to share a birthday card I made for my oldest granddaughter who just turned 10!  I can hardly believe it!  She is on the way to New York City today with her mom for her birthday present.  Only wish I could be there with them!  Anyway, here is the card I made with "Wings of Hope" by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps.  I have had this awesome stamp for some time now and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  My granddaughter is obsessed with horses and collects everything "horsey"!

I used Cosmo Cricket "DeLovely" design paper because it is just so bright and beautiful!   I added decorative multi-colored ribbon to give the effect of a true carousel.  My carousel horse is colored with Copics:  R11, R43, R83, C00, C1, C7, G14, YG03, Y28, YR21.

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #59

Today I'd like to share with you a card I created to enter the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #59.

Spring Flower Girl

I used the new Basic Gray "Capella" design paper.  I am in love with this new collection!  My image is from Vintage Stampers Freebees.   I thought the "Spring Flower Girl" was the perfect image for this DP.  I lightly highlighted her pink roses with an E000 Copic marker.   I embossed one panel of my DP, sponged with Papertrey Ink's Vintage Touch ink and distressed the edges.  I added pearl dew drops, a ruffled ribbon and Prima flower jewelry to complete my card.

Stamping Sisters In Christ Challenge #44 - Psalm 119:105

I'm posting a card today that I created for the current Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge.  The challenge was to create a card with just a sentiment or a verse without a stamped image ( my butterfly is not stamped, it was included  as a die cut with some of my DP).  I especially need this verse in my heart as I continue my journey with my dad and his cancer treatments.  Without Him, this would be a very difficult time for both of us.

I used this luscious DP from Graphic 45 to showcase my verse from Psalm 119:105.   Pearl dew drops and Prima flower jewelry were added as embellishments.

Sugar Creek Hollow Fabulous Friday

This week the design team was challenged to make a card without any design paper!  Egads!  I chose the vintage balloons Tracy just added to the Sugar Creek Hollow store.  I embossed my SU card stock with a Cuttlebug folder and cut out scallops with my Nestabilities.  I also sprayed some silver "Smooch Spritz" on my embossed circles.

I used crinkle ribbon from SCH and added a vintage tag sentiment.

Pixie Dust Studio Presents - New Moon Twilight Challenge

I was inspired to create a card showing Jacob and his shape-shifter wolf form for this week's challenge.

Now if you don't know the story, Jacob is a member of the Quileute tribe, an ancient line of "shape-shifters" that assume wolf form.  They are vampire's mortal enemies and Jacob undergoes his first transformation into a wolf in response to a new vampire threat.  He becomes busy patrolling the forest with his pack, searching for vampires in the area.

If you are among the throngs that have fallen in love with the  "Twilight" series, then you already know all about the love triangle between  Jacob, Edward and Bella.  Now I wonder how many of you are planning to see the premier of "Ecplise" on June 30th?

Kathy has some fabulous Twilight images created at Pixie Dust Studio.  Please take a look at my team member's creations for more Twilight eye candy!  The Pixies are listed on the right in my sidebar.

Critter Sketch Challenge #19

Welcome to this week's Critter Sketch Challenge.   Our sponsor for this month is Soft Pencil.  I chose another of Elizabeth's designs for my challenge card this week.   I'm not sure if this image is still available, but it's perfect for my youngest grandson's birthday.  Kelly Haberstroh designed our sketch for this week - a pocket card!  Fabulous sketch Kelly!

Here's another view with the tag out of the pocket

and here are the Copic markers I used:

My design paper is from Flair and my card stock is from Georgia Pacific and from my "stash".  This was a fun card to make!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #58

I really wanted to play along with this week's Midnight Madness challenge, so I just sat myself down and got busy with a design.  I used the Butterfly Tile from Sugar Creek Hollow.

Copic markers

I also sprayed my butterfly and flower with gold glow "Smooch Spritz".   I've used chocolate ruffled ribbon and Pink Paislee's "Queen Bee" collection design paper.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow!

It's another Fabulous Friday at Sugar Creek Hollow!  My card today is not as "vintagey" as I usually make.  I used a brighter  design paper from "My Mind's Eye" to go with the carefree images I chose.  I selected images from Tracy's "Jelly Jar" set and "Summer Picnic" set.  The vintage tag was a freebie last week.   The challenge was to "load up" a card this week.  Now that's right down my alley!  I love layers upon layers and lots of "stuff"!

I colored with Copic markers and painted my "jar" with Shimmerz Pink Poinsettia.  And I just had to do some paper piecing!

Pixie Dust Studio Presents "The Fair" and a Twilight Challenge

Under the Big Top, now announcing the newest release from Pixie Dust Studio, "The Fair"!  This newest collection just speaks to the inner child in me.  I had so much fun with "Bubbles the Clown"(including the "Trolley Cart"), "Ice Cream Pixie" and "Party Time Kitty".  They were just a joy to color and I had so much fun designing my layouts.

So here is ...
Bubbles the Clown and Trolley Cart

I used DCWV design paper for "Bubbles" and Stampin Up card stock.  All colors were with Copic markers.  Oh, and let's not forget the buttons!  I love using buttons and these are all from Basic Grey.

Now last, but not at all least is my card for the Twilight challenge.  We were challenged to create aTwilight card using black, red, white and silver.  My son happens to think Victoria is "hot", so I made this just for him!

Ice Cream Pixie Sneak Peek!

I have another Pixie Dust Studio sneak peek for you today, "Ice Cream Pixie".  This is another fabulous image from "The Fair" being released on Thursday.

Ice Cream Pixie

I'd love to have that ice cream cone right about now!  This little Pixie was colored with Copic markers.  I used Basic Grey's "Lemonade" collection.  This is a recessed window card, I just learned how to make these and I think they are so neat!  I added borders with my Martha Stewart punch, a ruffled ribbon and I made my punched flowers and leaves with my Nellie Snellen punches.  Then the final touch - I added some Stickles to her wings for a little sparkle.

Thanks for visiting and please stop by tomorrow to see my next creation the Pixie Dust Studio!

Pixie Dust Studio - The Fair!

Now who doesn't love a fair?  I always looked forward to going to the state fair every year.  Mmmm, just the smell of popcorn and peanuts and yummy cotton candy!   Today I can give you a sneak peak of what's to come on Wednesday, the official release day for "The Fair".  Kathy has brought me back to my childhood with these images, aren't they yummy?

Now this kitty really knows how to party!  I used Basic Grey's "Lemonade" collection design paper and Stampin Up card stock.  I decided to "bling it up" on this card - there's punched borders by Martha Stewart,  a Prima rose and other roses from Michael's, a Maya Road stickpin and butterflies.

Check out the other Pixie's sneak peaks...

Sugar Creek Hollow To The Rescue

I was asked on Wednesday if I could create a "certificate" of appreciation for a very loved member of our church relocating to Georgia.  I don't think the word "no" is in my vocabulary!  My pastor is such a good shepherd and is alway giving his time and energy to everyone else, how could I refuse?  So here is my attempt to create an appreciation certificate.  Thank goodness I had this "Berry Frame" from Sugar Creek Hollow, I think it's perfect!

I enlarged the Berry Frame and then painted it with H20 Egyptian Gold.  I used some digi paper and inserted the text I wanted.  I finished off by adding the verses from Numbers 6:24-26.  I added some flowers punched with my Nellie Snellen punches as the final touch.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Father's Day Card Friday

Today I am posting a card created with the Father's Day set from Sugar Creek Hollow.   Tracy has designed all the images you need for a "Rootin'-Tootin'" Father's Day!

The design paper is from the "Horsin' Around Collection" from Flair and the vintage photo is from "Kathy's Cowboys".  I hand made the belt with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestability die and silver studs.  The hat band was made by knoting jute and the lariat was also made with jute. More silver studs complete my embellishments since this is a masculine card, and I did not want any "foo foo" items!

Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the rest of the Sugar Creek Hollow's  design team blogs for more inspiration!

It's A Twilight Blog Hop At Pixie Dust Studio!

Pixie Dust Studio is having a blog hop today!  The challenge this week for the Pixies was to create a card inspired by one of Kathy's fabulous Twilight images.  What does Twilight mean to you?

"Twilight"  is such a fabulous love story and tale of undying love which surmounts the impossible, even in the incredulous world of vampires and mortals.  I loved the part when Edward and Bella were in the meadow, now how many vampires in ancient stories were even able to expose themselves to daylight?  I hope you enjoy my creation today with the image "Love Sparkles".  If you have arrived here from Lisa's blog, you are on the right track.  If not, be sure to go back to the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog.

Love Sparkles

This image just pleaded to use Basic Grey's "Green At Heart" design paper.  I added lots of bows and plenty of hearts, after all, this is forever love!

Your next stop on the hop is Lisa F and you should end up at Pixie Dust Studio.

Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoy the hop!  Did I mention a prize?  (or is that a secret!)

Meljen Challenge #10 - Dry Embossing

Ooh, I'm late posting today!  Too many things going on.  Here is my card for the current Meljen challenge, "Turtle's Friend".  I love turtles and this is such a cute image I just had to pick this one to play along with.

I used Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck "Earth Love" design paper and Stampin Up cardstock.  I went a little "ga ga" with the orange this time.  My sun was created with ribbon scraps, a flower from my stash and a button.  I used Martha Stewart punches raffia ribbon, and orange ribbon from my stash.

Here are the Copics I used:

Thanks for visiting!  Come back tomorrow to see my "Twilight Challenge" image from Pixie Dust Studios!

Sugar Creek Hollow Blog Hop

Welcome to a new blog hop at Sugar Creek Hollow!  There are some fabulous new digis in the store and some great creations from my team members.   And...a blog hop game for you to play along with!

So let's play and have some fun!  Every design team member has a secret letter hidden in their post. Leave a comment on their blog once you find the secret letter and continue on to each member's blog to get all the letters and discover the secret word - my secret letter is "O".  Once you have the secret word, you will receive instructions on where to post your answer.  If you've come to my blog after visiting Joan's blog, then you're on the right course.

Here is the card I created with one of the new release digis, "Vintage Graduation".

I'm so glad Tracy designed this set, I always need graduation cards in June!  My DP is from "Creative Imaginations" and my card stock is from SU and PTI.  I used a few Copic markers on my design, pearl dew drops and ruffled ribbon.

The next stop on the hop is Dani.   Have fun and good luck!
