New Fairy For Today

I created another new card today with my "Groovy Angel" faerie stamp I recently received from Susana. This is such a cute stamp and a joy to color! I used my Prismacolor pencils again and chose my design paper from Basic Grey's Euphoria set. I also used Prima flowers, dewdrops and stickles for accent. I had another layout in mind when I first started, but this design had a mind of it's own. Hope you like her!

Christmas is Over?

How fast and furious the holiday season is, all the preparation and fuss, wrapping presents and the best part - being with family and friends. I'm always a little sad when it's actually over. I had a house full from December 23rd to December 28th. I love watching all the grandchildren opening presents and playing with their cousins. I guess I will just have to keep Christmas in my heart all year long! I did take a moment from a much needed rest to color a new image from Susana's, it is from the IBFS Fairy line, called Fairy Friends:

I used my Prismacolor pencils and the sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms. The paper is Dovecraft's Fantasy. The children in these stamps are just irresistable!

Well, back to putting my house in order and running a few errands. I hope everyone had a very wonderful Christmas and happy holidays!

Time Is Flying By!

I cannot believe it, Christmas will be here on Thursday! Sorry I have not posted more, but every day last week was hectic. There were last minute gifts, more Christmas cards to make, our annual Christmas Cantada and oh yes, my dear hubby had back surgery on Wednesday! I promise, the back surgery was my number one priority. Medical technology has really advanced, DH was in and out the same day. They used an X-Stop (no, not an x-box!) for lumbar spinal decompression. I spent all Saturday afternoon compressing my spine, standing at my countertop and wrapping presents for 3 hours! I made twelve more Christmas cards, there are always a few special ones I make besides my mass mailing. I want to share a few with you: This is the Sarah Kay set, "Angels Rejoice". I used PTI design paper and my Copics for coloring. This is my entry for Summer's Roses On Paper Challenge Blog. This card is actually made from two Eat Cake Graphics sets. The DP is from Basic Grey's Wassail papers, Copics for coloring and I used my Cuttlebug to create the stucco frame around the window. The two cards above were designed using a new paper collection, Winter Wonderland from Dovecraft carried by Susana's Custom Art and Card Design available here. Susana carries the darling "faerie" stamps I am so in love with! The second card image is one from The Angel Company set, "Christmas Season". I embossed the image in silver and used DCWV silver card stock for the mat and flourishes.

I finally inked up my Whiff Of Joy "Willow With Lantern" to create this card: Again, I used Copics and Basic Grey's Wassail DP. She is just so elegant looking! I purchased this WOF from Roses On Paper. Summer carries WOF, Magnolia and Sarah Kay stamps in her store. I'm not sure if I will be posting any more until after Christmas. The relatives start arriving Tuesday afternoon and I still have lots to do! I would like to go ahead and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas from our house to yours.

Good Morning - Great To Be Back!

I have been without internet all weekend! Friday night at 7 p.m. it was like someone flicked a switch and then decided to wait until Sunday afternoon to turn it on again :( . I am swamped with emails now and trying to catch up with posts on my favorite groups. I had a new faerie I received from Susana's store, "Lost In Thought". I just love her pensive pose and I chose Dovecraft's Fantasy paper for my background. I received her in the mail Friday and had to ink her up that same day. Here she is:

I spent the rest of the weekend scrapbooking with my friends. Once a month we gather in our church social hall to work on our albums and just have fun. I did take a few stamps and stamped with a couple of other addicts during our "break".

Hope to have more cards to share later - I absolutely have to get busy and wrap some Christmas presents, especially before the grandkids find them!

New Whiff of Joy Card

I have had this background stamp, "Holiday Door" from The Stampin' Place for some time now, and was waiting to use it with just the right stamp. I decided to use my Lizzie stamp from Whiff of Joy, she just seemed perfect. I used so many Copic markers, I cannot remember all the colors! I used Amelia for my design paper from The Angel Company - the colors seemed to bring out the rich wood color of the door.

Only 15 more days until Christmas! I still have not inked up all my Christmas stamps this year. Maybe I will just make Christmas cards all year long - then I will be ahead of the game next year at this time.

MORE BLOG CANDY!

I also want to mention that Kim, from Crafts By Kim has some super blog candy! Just visit her here to see all the wonderful prizes and to see an awesome blog. One of the prizes she is giving away are some angel charms. They are so cute!

Well Dressed Tilda

My precious Tilda's have been ignored lately! Christmas cards were on the top of my "to do list" so I had to get busy. Now that I have most of my cards finished, I just had to ink up this new Tilda I received. I had already imagined her paired with the Christmas ornament from Magnolia. I never imagined using "black" at Christmas, but it looks so nice with the designer paper from DCWV. The black and red are textured cardstock from Bazzil. I am so loving this Martha Stewart branch punch! I used the branches to turn a SU sentiment into a wreath. The poinsettias are from Prima and I used Copic markers for my coloring and Stickles for the razzle dazzle. The design is from Sketch Challenge #1 by Claudia Rosa in my Magnolia-licious yahoo group. Hmmm, only 17 more days left until Christmas - I'd better get busy!

Whew, What A Weekend!

My weekend was anything but ordinary! I was in the middle of making Christmas cards when I received a call no grandmother likes to receive, "hurry quick, we need you"! My granddaughter, Morgan broke her left wrist in two places. All is well and she is ensconced in pillows and has her twin brother and older sister waiting on her hand and foot! I finished my Christmas snowflake spinner cards Saturday night. For those who missed my prototype earlier, here is a picture of my card: I cased the design from Jak Heath. The stamp is by Impression Obsession, designed by Leigh Hannan. These were a little time consuming so I am making NO more! I am going to make some TAC Christmas cards next, they really have some cute designs. Then...I can have more time to play with my faeries and Magnolias. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Kyra - My Newest Faerie

I inked up another one of my new faeries last night, her name is Kyra. Please take a look! Kyra is just one of many delightful faeries from Faerie Song, you can see them all here on Susana's website. I had so much fun coloring her with my copics and choosing paper to compliment her. So, guess who is still not making any headway with her Christmas cards? Back to the craft room!

I Received An Award!

One of my dear stamping friends, Marie, has presented me with this fantastic award! Marie has such a fabulous blog, you really have to take a look! I met Marie on the Magnolicious forum and I've been following her blog ever since. She has a real flair for copic markers! Here are the rules: the winner may put the logo on their blog; put a link back to the person that sent you the award; nominate 5 blogs; put links to their blogs; leave a message for your nominee.

Wow, how hard it is to pick only 5 blogs! I've visited so many that truly inspire me and I could nominate all that Marie chose again, but I'll try and pic 5 new ones that I truly love. So here are my selections:

  • Ribbonrie Peggy is super talented and just so friendly and helpful. She was the first blogger friend I made and has been such an inspiration to me. We have a special bond and share a common love of grandchildren and Magnolia's.
  • Cards Made By Hand Joani introduced me to The Angel Company (TAC). She has become a friend and mentor to me and also helped me to become a TAC demo. She is a very talented designer and has some beautiful cards!
  • Danni's Dreams Danni is such a sweetheart! She is also a TAC demo and a superbly talented faerie card creator and designer. We met on the Magnolicious forum and I'm one of her blog followers!
  • Pretty Pressings Claudia is one of the most talented designers I've met. She is also very friendly and helpful. I follow her blog for my daily dose of stamping "eye candy"!
  • StampynWife's Space Christine is a wonderful designer and another faerie lover! She is very talented and a very hard worker, just take a look at her Robin Hood and Maid Marian card on her blog!
I feel blessed to have made so many new friends and to be surrounded by such great talent.

I Have An Award from Susan!

I have just become the proud receipient of an award from Stamping Tink (you're the best!). This is the first award I've received on my blog and I am so excited! Here is information about the award: This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement . Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who may then pass it on. I hope you will accept this award in friendship and know that you have inspired me. Thank you Susan, not only for this award but also for your friendship!

Two for Tuesday

I actually have two cards to show you today! I finished a card I was working on last night, "Christmas Magic". I love the scene on this stamp and my Basic Grey Wassail papers look beautiful with this. I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral oil. The poinsettias add just the right Christmas spirit! This is a departure from Copic markers for me. I am "forcing" myself to use different mediums. This was my first Sarah Kay card and I am sure it will not be my last!
My second card was made using Whiff of Joy's "Lizzie with Muff". I had a lot of fun with this one - I love using snowflakes! The paper I used is DCWV. I colored Lizzie with my Copic markers. These Whiff of Joy stamps are a "joy" to stamp with. The rubber is deep and gives a very crisp image.
I think Christmas cards are my favorite cards to design! Let me know what your favorites are!

Happy Birthday Tilda With Fall Attitude

I'm back after a long hiatus to show you my latest Magnolia creation. I spent last week with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Falls Church, VA. I had not seen my newest grandson since he was a month old and I needed lots of Gramie hugs and kisses! And to beat all, I leave and miss our first snow for the season! I did manage to bring home a cold and a few odds and ends from Michael's and A.C. Moore's.
I used Basic Grey's Ambrosia patterned paper, the colors are definitely Fall. I wanted one last hurrah with these beautiful colors. I can't recall ever making a birthday card with these colors before. Here she is:
Thanks for looking! I hope to have more cards to share with you tomorrow.

Believe - Tilda With Wreath

I wanted to make one more Tilda card today and I finally completed it! I have been wanting to use my Basic Grey Wassail papers and I love the colors I was able to select from my Copics to compliment my paper. I knew as soon as I saw this Tilda that I had to add her to my collection. I just received my new "Nestie" label die and this made a perfect backdrop for Tilda. Poinseittias from Prima add the finishing touch. My card measure 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". This was a recent sketch from Friday Sketchers. And... I don't want to forget to mention some great blog candy! Kristine is celebrating her blogoversary - 350 posts in one year! She designs for Friday Sketchers and is very talented. Visit her blog here. I will be following her blog from now on! Hope to post more cards later "today" (yes, it is after midnight!). Goodnight!

Winter Wonderland

Busy week! I made a birthday card, a get well card, a sympathy card and four Magnolia cards. My grandchildren spent Veteran's Day with me and they love to help "Gramie" make cards! The two girls always want to make a Magnolia card. The 8-year old is very talented - stamping crisp images and especially careful with her coloring. I created this card for my Magnolia-licious group November "raining cards" event. I used "Rowdy Tilda" and "Tree With Snow" stamps to create this wintery scene. I embossed the blue background with the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder. I used a Nestability die cut circle on the tree and added silver Stickles to bring out the snowflakes. My top border and landscape border were punched with a Fiskars snowflake border punch. Tilda and the tree were colored with copic markers. I actually made four duplicate cards and had fun with all of these! I prefer to cut out my Tilda and Edwin images and attach to my backgrounds.
Thanks for looking!

Visions of Sugar Plums........

I want to share with you today a card I made just for fun! I definitely have the Christmas spirit. I received this cute C. C. Designs set and it reminded me of Christmases when I was a little girl. Here is a photo of my card:

Christmas cards are so much fun to make! I used the Basic Grey Wassail papers and my copic markers to color.

I spent the day Monday shopping at A.C. Moore and Michael's. There are such gorgeous holiday papers and embellishments on display! I think I could make Christmas cards all year long!
