Heartfelt Creations July Alumni Blog Hop

Summer is certainly flying by fast!  We've had incredibly hot days and a bumper crop of grass this year.  I'm content in finding things to do indoors, especially spending time in my craft room.  The last Tueday of the month is set aside for the monthly Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  I have used  Heartfelt Creations and Spellbinders diecuts to create my floral card.  I embossed my cardstock and added pearls with a Viva Decor pearl pen.   If you arrived here from Lisa's blog then you are on the right track.  If not, you will want to start at the beginning with Olga's blog so you don't miss any of these beautiful creations!

My card base is Stampin Up and  Georgia Pacific cardstock.   I used Posy Patch Die HCD 701, Bella  Rose Die HCD 712 and distress inks to create my floral arrangement.

Your next stop on the hop is Carla's blog and she has a gorgeous creation to share with you!  Be sure to leave a comment on every blog you visit while you're hopping because one randomly chosen commenter will win a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations.  You have until Friday, August 3rd at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be announced Saturday, August 4th at noon,  The winner will need to email Emma Lou with "winner of June Alumni Hop" in subject line.  Here is a complete hop list in case you get lost hoppiing:

Sand + Beach = Happiness

I totally fell in love with this little beach boy!  I live near the ocean and this reminds me so much of my son and grandsons where they were toddlin' around in the sand building sandcastles.  The digital image and design paper are from The Paper Shelter.  I love the bright colors and used a Creative Memories wave punch to emphasize the 'beachy" theme.

card recipe:
"Happy Times Beachboy" image and design paper from The Paper Shelter,
sentiment from Create with TLC "Salt Water and Sand" collection, wave
border from Creative Memories, Georgia Pacific and Stampin Up cardstock

Anyone ready to head for the beach?  We've had extremely hot and humid weather this summer and everyone is flocking to the beaches.  I think I'll just stay in the air conditioning with my ice tea!

Thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Down by the Seashore

I'm back today with a new card featuring "Down by the Seashore" from Create with TLC.  This is just one of many vintage images Paulette carries in her store.

card recipe:
"Down by the Seashore" vintage image from TLC, Webster's Pages
design paper, Bazzill and Georgia Pacific cardstock, Bazzill
ribbon, Martha Stewart punch, Copic markers, distress inks

I'm actually trying a little more CAS when designing my cards.  I love fancy and fussy but the trend right now seems to be "less is more".   I will probably be doing both since sometimes I just love to let myself go!  Which style do you prefer to use?

Vintage Silhouette

Good morning!  My goodness, last week sure went by fast, I had forgotten how busy my days were when I had the children at home.   It all came back to me doubled with 7 grandchildren here most of the week!  A good time was had by all, either playing in the pool or enjoying various other activities.

I did actually get in a my craftroom a little, most of the time I was helping little hands to make cards and other creations.  Here is a card I managed to sneak in:

Vintage Silhouettes
card recipe:
Vintage Silhouette and design papers from Create with TLC,
Marianne Creatables die, Wild Orchid Roses, Georgia Pacific CS

This was a quick and easy card to make, I cut out the silhouette and arranged it in the center of my die, added some ribbon and roses and presto!  Somedays I need the quick CAS method, while other days I just love to spend time with a technique and coloring.

Holy Cow!

Have you ever forgotten someone's birthday?  I know I have, or at the least I have been late mailing a birthday card.  When I saw this new digi at Create with TLC, I knew I had to add this to my collection!

Holy Cow
card recipe:
Create with TLC Holy Cow Collage Set, sentiment: I'm sorry I forgot your birthday
Bo Bunny design paper, SU and Georgia Pacific cardstock, Copic Markers,
distress inks, Wild Orchid roses,  Martha Stewart punch and Spellbinders dies

I managed to grab a little time yesterday morning to play in my craftroom while the grandchildren were at VBS.  I was able to finish this and add to my blog later last night after a super busy day.  This week has sure flown by fast, children definitely make the time go by faster!

I can just image the look on someone's face when they get this card!  Thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Viintage Signs Part 2

Good morning!  I actually hoped to post this earlier in the week,  but I have grandchildren coming out of all the nooks and crannies and lovin' every minute!  And guess what one of their favorite things to do is?  Make cards!   I've been busy helping them with their projects so mine have been on the back burner, hee hee.  I did sneak up to the craftroom by myself and here is my second Vintage Signs card from Create with TLC:

Coffee
Card recipe:
sentiment and coffee label from Create wiht TLC,
coffee digital design paper from Digi Scraps Delights,
SU cardtock, distress inks, lace and ribbon from my stash

I told my husband I was dedicating this card to him.  He grabbed his chest in fun when he saw the sentiment because I am definitely NOT able to function without my first cup of morning coffee!  This was a lot of fun to make and if you're a "coffee-holic" like me, can be the most loving card you can give someone.

TLC Blog Hop: Words, Timeless and Beautiful

The day for the much anticipated TLC Blog Hop is finally here!  I love the theme of the hop, "Words, Timeless and Beautiful".   Our words mean so much to others,  so please choose them carefully!  Paulette has given all of the designers new images for the hop and I have a card to show you using my new image and as a bonus, I am also giving away the digi I used, courtesy of Paulette!

Get Well

closeup

and your free digi!  just right click and save or drag to your desk top
Now you may be noticing my image looks just a tad different from the digi being given away.  I love to play in Photoshop, so I combined the "Get Well" sentiment with one of Paulette's framed sets, "Frame it All" - I'm using the "Baroque Frame".

Now for the hop order:

Please be sure to grab the "freebies" after each post!  We'd love to see what you create with these!

Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoy the hop!   I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Dear God Thank You

This has to be one of my favorite sets ever from Create with TLC.  Thanking God is something I do every day.  I can never thank Him enough for all of His blessings.   I created my card using this spectacular digi, adhering the image behind the circle I cut in the design paper:

card recipe:
Webster's Pages design paper, SU and Georgia Pacific cardstock, sunflowers,
Marianne Creatables leaves, Robin's Nest dew drops, gingham bow, Recollection pearl flourishes,
distress inks, Copic Markers, Spellbinders,
"Dear God Thank You" new digi from Create with TLC

I was thrilled to find this particular design paper!  In the bottom left-hand corner are the words "Count Your Blessings".  I just love it when a plan comes together!

When You Have A King...

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!   We had beautiful weather for the thousands who flocked to the beaches and a great display of fireworks to end the day.  Our temperatures are forecasted to be in the three digits today.  I'm thankful for my air conditioner!

I have an amusing, slightly different anniversary card to share with you today, "When You Have A King" from Create with TLC:

card recipe:
design paper and digi from Create with TLC, cardstock from my stash, Copic markers, Martha Stewart punch, burlap from The Funkie Junkie

I decided to keep this strictly masculine, since it's actually a great compliment to our significant other and such fun!

Thanks for visiting and keep cool today!  I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

Beautiful

I had been doing so good with my posting, but I've been super busy taking care of my family lately.    A wife and daughter's work is never done!  I had some very therapeutic time in my craft room today and managed to crank out a couple of cards.  I was knee deep in dies, paper and images, in my element and totally loving every minute!   Here is my card to share:

Beautiful

card recipe:
Webster's pages, Create with TLC image, Spellbinders dies, Prima hibiscus and Wild Orchid rose, pearl flourish by Recollections, Georgia Pacific and Stampin' Up cardstock, Copic markers

This was easy to put together, I think the design paper really adds to this card, and of course the lovely image by Create with TLC!
