Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all my dear friends and their families!

I thought I'd share  a picture of my Christmas tree early yesterday morning before all the grandchildren descended on the presents!

Today we are homebound due to a major snow storm that hit early this morning.  I'm just thankful that it waited until the day after Christmas!

Another Angel Ornament

I had such fun making my first ornament, I decided to create another!  This time she was created with DP from gotmoxie's Faith collection.  I also spritzed on gold Smooch to emphasize the gold tones in my DP:

I also used Martha Stewart punches for the edges of my angel and the holly leaves.  These angels make such a great gift and are easy to make!  If you'd like to make one, just go to Crafter's Digital Art Center, Carol Hurlock has a free tutorial and PDF template!

Thanks for visiting and have a great Sunday!

Sensational Saturdays With Sugar Creek Hollow

What could be better than Saturday?  A "Sensational Saturday" with Sugar Creek Hollow!  This week's challenge was to use a winter digi that has not been used before.  I actually have two creations to share with you today, an Angel Ornament and a card:

A Christmas Duet
I was inspired by the ribbon after I made my angel and decided this would also be great to use for my Silent Night card.
Angel Ornament
Silent Night

My angel was created using a free pattern from CDAC angel making class.  I embossed the "Dove" and "Believe" digis  with Versamark and silver embossing powder.  My card stock was embossed with a snowflake Cuttlebug folder.  I used holiday ribbon, silver dew drops and sponged my card stock with distressed ink.

I have wanted to use the "Silent Night" colored digi ever since I first saw it!  I changed the background color to a navy blue to match my card stock.  The card stock was embossed with a Sizzix snowflake folder and sponged with SU Whisper White.  This is my entry for the MMSC#84 challenge.

I've listed our DT members below and hope you will visit, we love to hear from you!

No challenge this week!

Critter Sketch Challenge #44

I have a card created today for this week's Critter Sketch Challenge.  This week's challenge is to create a card using... "No Pattern Paper"!  Yikes!!!  This can be done, but strikes fear in the hearts of most card designers!

Here is the card I created using a digital image from Bugaboo Stamps,  "Mary Joseph and Child".

My card stock is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I sponged distressed ink over the snowflakes and tried to use "earthy" colors.  My image is colored with Copic markers and my border was created with a Martha Stewart Punch.  I added ribbon and a Spellbinder's die to enhance my sentiment.

Thanks for visiting and please check out the other "Critters" blogs to see their creations!

A Merry Christmas Snowman

This is my last creation as a guest designer for Paper Cupcakes this month.  I have enjoyed designing with Nina May's fabulous images and want to say "thank you"!  This week's challenge, and the last challenge for December is to create a Christmas card in the traditional colors of red and green using "A Merry Christmas Snowman".  This is just the cutest snowman!
I used Spellbinder's dies for my image and layers.  I added ribbon for trim and a MS Christmas village border  My snowman was colored with Copic markers and I paper pieced his vest.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the design team's blogs to see their gorgeous ornaments!

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Today is another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!  This week the design team was challenged to create a card using only the colors white and red.
Here is my card following the sketch:
And a close-up:

I changed the color of my digital stamp to red and added a complimentary red Spellbinders die.  Underneath the red die I added a doily and embossed my card stock.  Then a touch of lace to give a more vintage look.  Sorry I don't have the name of my DP - I'm away from home and forgot the name.

I've listed our DT members below and hope you will visit, we love to hear from you!

Please join us for this week's challenge!  We would love for you to play along,  just make your creation using red and white and link it up with Mr. Linky HERE

Thanks for visiting and have a sensational Saturday!

Christmas Wreath

This card is for the Midnight Madness Challenge that is on-going all month.  I used a new Priscilla Styles image, "Merry Christmas Wreath".

This was the sketch I used:

I just couldn't resist making a card this week - I guess I've been "programmed", LOL!

Christmas Ornament Keepsake

This month I am thrilled to be a guest designer for Paper Cupcakes!  The first challenge for December is to create a Christmas ornament keepsake in the traditional colors of red and green.  I chose Nina's "Noel Bears" for my ornament, they are just so adorable!
and a larger image
I used a Spellbinder's die for my image, added a MS border and then adhered to a Magnolia Tilda Doily (this is one of the new Doohickey dies).  I added rhinestones and stickles, as well as decorative ribbon and lace.  My bears were colored with Copic markers.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the design team's blogs to see their gorgeous ornaments!

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Today is another sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!  This week the design team followed this sketch in creating their cards:
Here is my card following the sketch:
And here is the inside:
I combined the Christmas Plaque and Christmas Joy digital stamps.  I noticed that if you looked closely at the plaque, there was actually the shape of a cross in the pattern.  I used a Spellbinder's die-cut cross to emphasize this.  I also used the digital ink embossing technique that Tracy showed us earlier and embossed with my gold powder.

I've listed our DT members below and hope you will visit, we love to hear from you!

Thanks for visiting and have a sensational Saturday!

Please join us for this week's challenge!  We would love for you to play along,  just make your creation using the faux barn board technique and link it up with Mr. Linky HERE

I've listed our DT members below and hope you will visit, we love to hear from you!

Thanks for visiting and have a sensational Saturday!

Luke 2:10-12 KJV

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
