Christmas Joy

It's another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!  This week the design team was challenged to create a card using lace.  I chose this beautiful sentiment "Christmas Joy".
I changed the digital ink color to red using Adobe Photoshop.  There's a great tutorial on how to do this on the CDAC site (listed on my sidebar).  I used one of my favorite DP's for this season, Basic Grey's "Jovial".  I adore the poinsettia DP and I've used Prima poinsettias to compliment the paper.  I punched holly leaves with my new MS punch and went crazy with the Crystal Effects!  I added dew drops for the holly berries, sponged distress ink around the edges of my sentiment and punched slots for my ribbon.  The ribbon above my sentiment is Tracy's Country Crinkle ribbon, adorned with flower jewelry from Prima.  She has this available in her store in all different colors!

We hope you will play along with our challenge this week!  Please make sure to visit the Sugar Creek Hollow store here and my team mate's blogs to see their creations, they are listed on my sidebar.

Saturday is here and it's another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow!   The design team was challenged to make a card with either the "Christmas Cardinal" or "Primitive Sheep" that Tracy has in her store here.

I just fell in love with this sheep and the colors from last week's challenge kept playing over and over in my head!  Everything is sponged in distressed inks and my paper is from K and Company, Basic Grey, SU and Canson.  The gorgeous Country Crinkle ribbon is from Tracy's store and the jewelry on the bow is from Prima.  The key and locket were cut with a Spellbinder's die.

Critter Sketch Challenge #36, "Hip to Be Square"

This week it is so "Hip to Be Square", or at least that is the name of this week's Critter Sketch Challenge!  Our challenge was to follow this awesome sketch by Heidi:

and here is my card:

I used a Pure Innocence stamp, "Blooming Good Day" and the new Basic Grey "Pyrus" collection for my design paper.  I tried not to deviate from the sketch too much, since the sketch name calls for "square".  I colored this little cutie with my Copic markers and used Bazzill CS and SU CS.

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Saturdays are always sensational at Sugar Creek Hollow!  That's when the design team creates new cards to share with you for inspiration.  This week the design team's challenge was a color combo using dark brown, sand/tan and bluish-green.  Here's my entry using "Eastern Bluebird" by Hilary.

I love this Eastern Bluebird!  Look closer under the bluebird and you will see another digital stamp, "Christmas Plaque".  Both of my images were printed on vellum and then layered on top of my DP from K & Company.  My bluebird was colored with Copic markers and the plaque was colored in Adobe Photoshop by changing the color of the digital ink.  I used wheat grass Country Crinkle ribbon from Sugar Creek Hollow and some brown ruffled ribbon from my stash.

Please make sure to visit the Sugar Creek Hollow store here and my team mate's blogs to see their creations, they are listed on my sidebar.  Thanks for visiting and have a sensational Saturday!

Here is my card creation for this week's sketch, "Cozy & Bright" by Paper Cupcakes.  I just fell in love with this cute little reindeer and the mouse nestled in his antlers!

.
I chose Basic Grey's Wassail collection for my design paper and SU card stock.  My reindeer is colored with Copic markers and I light sponged some SU Green Galore around the edges of my distressed paper.   The hardest thing about this sketch was creating all the layers!  I added a Country Crinkle ribbon, compliments of Sugar Creek Hollow and tied it with red and gold cording.  This was really a workout, although a fun one!

A "Sneak Peak" from Pixie Dust Studio's Newest Collection!

I'm so pleased to share with you a sneak peek of Pixie Dust Studio's newest collection, "Leaves".   Kathy has designed so many cute images, this is "Harvest Mouse":

Fall is fast becoming one of my favorite seasons.  I love the cooler weather and the beautiful colors this time of year.  This cute little mouse peeking out of the pumpkin is so typical, of course the mice around here are not quite so "cute" and once the crops are harvested, they all scatter to try and get into our homes!

I used some DP and CS I had in my stash and colored my image with Copic markers.  My MS fence border punch seemed the perfect embellishment as well as the fall colored flowers.

Thanks for visiting and please take a moment and visit the other Pixie's blogs to see their newest creations which are listed on my sidebar!

Sensational Saturdays at Sugar Creek Hollow

Saturdays are always sensational at Sugar Creek Hollow!  That's when the design team creates new cards to share with you for inspiration.  Now who doesn't need inspiration when it comes to making Christmas cards?  Well, I'm all about Christmas right now - I've jumped across Halloween and Thanksgiving already!  Today I'd like to share "Christmas Cardinal" designed by Tracy's very talented daughter, Hilary.

I love birds!  Not only do I like to color them, I also like to photograph them.  I'm so glad I purchased the newest Basic Grey "Jovial" collection early.  I think this pattern just compliments this gorgeous Cardinal image.  My coloring is with Copic markers and the bow and lace are from my "stash".   The poinsettia flowers are from Prima.

MMSC74 - Halloween Witch Hat Cat

Better late than never, this is my entry for the Priscilla Styles Design Team, "Halloween Witch Hat Cat' for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

and this is the sketch for this week's challenge:

This was so much fun to create!  I used Basic Grey's Eerie DP and then added cobweb borders with a MS punch.  I made the borders by joining two strips and then going oven the "cobweb" with a white gel pen.  My hat and cat are colored with H20's and then I added glaze to the hat.  Purple buttons on the medallions and black dew drops complete this "eerie" scene!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge #43 - Sweet Baby

Time for Pixie Dust Studio's Thursday challenge!  This week Kathy asked us to make a baby card using pink, blue, yellow or green.  I chose Gia the Giraffe, I think she's just perfect!

I used DP and card stock from Papertrey Ink.  My embossed panel is from DCWV.  I colored Gia with my Copic markers and sponged some SU apricot ink around the edges.  The wooden alphabet tiles were a "find" at Michael's and I tied them on SU ribbon.

I hope you will join us for our challenge this week here and please visit the other Pixie's blogs, listed on my sidebar to see their challenge creations.
