The Rose

I just love this new set designed by Paulette from Create with TLC!   I needed images for two birthday cards this week and I chose two different designs for my cards:

I love floral cards, they can be used for so many different occasions.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder for my first card and distressed the swirls to match my Stampin' Up cardstock.  Both images were cut using a Spellbinders die.  My second card is embellished with a Martha Stewart punch and Cheery Lynn dies.  Distress inks and Copic Markers were used on both cards.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and please be sure to come out tomorrow and check out the Create with TLC blog hop!

Heartfelt Creations September Alumni Blog Hop

I can't believe fall is already here!  We're having cooler nights and the daytime temperatures are much more comfortable and a welcome relief from the scorching summer.  The last Tueday of the month is set aside for the monthly Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  I have used  Heartfelt Creations and Spellbinders diecuts to create my scenic card.    If you arrived here from Lisa's blog then you are on the right track.  If not, you will want to start at the beginning with Olga's blog so you don't miss any of these beautiful creations!

My card base is Stampin Up and  DCWV cardstock, the design paper is "Dilly Dally" from My Mind's Eye.   I used HCPC 3369 "Outside My Window" for my image, Posy Patch Die HCD 701, Spellbinders Shapeabilites Foliage and Grand Ovals dies, Copic markers and distress inks .

Your next stop on the hop is Carla's blog and she has a gorgeous creation to share with you!  Be sure to leave a comment on every blog you visit while you're hopping because one randomly chosen commenter will win a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations.  You have until Friday, September 28 at midnight EST to leave your comments.  The winner will be announced Saturday, September 29th at noon,  The winner will need to email Emma Lou with "winner of September Alumni Hop" in subject line.  Here is a complete hop list in case you get lost hoppiing:

Harvest Time

Good morning!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday.  We are still having days in the 80's but our nights have dipped all the way down in the 50's the past two weeks.  This is such a beautiful time of the year and I enjoy the cooler temps after such a wickedly hot summer.  I live in a farming community, all the corn has been harvested and the soy beans are reaching for the sky.  I am thankful we have had such a plentiful harvest and my prayers go out to all the farmers suffering froml the extreme weather conditions we have had this past year.

I picked this image, "Harvest Time Collage Basket" from Create with TLC for my fall card.  I love the mixture of apples and fall leaves nestled around the vintage clock.  I have had this Stampin Up design paper with the apples forever and thought this would be the perfect time to use it.

Harvest Time Collage Basket
card recipe:
TLC Harvest Time Collage Basket,  SU design paper, Canson and Georgia Pacific cardstock,  SU striped ribbon, Heartfelt Creations Bella Rose die,  Spellbinders Grand circles die, Creative Memories leaf punch,  Copic Markers and distress inks.

I hope you can take time to enjoy this beautiful season and appreciate the beautiful palette of colors that accompany this time of year.

Vintage Anyone?

If you've ever visited my blog, you know I have a great love for vintage images.  I love all the embellishments and creating that special antique look to my cards.  I believe I get my "vintage" blood from my aunt.  She was an "antiquer", even to the point of stopping and knocking on someone's door if she saw a desirable item sitting on their porch. She would also appear at garage sales way before the advertised time to get that head start, sometimes offending the seller at those early hours.  My daughter and I love to kid each other when we score a fabulous bargain declaring we have a little bit of "Aunt Jean" in us!

Create with TLC just strikes a chord within me.  Paulette has such spectacular vintage images, which really whets my vintage appetite!  I have a favorite image to share with you today from her collection:

card recipe:
image fromTLC, Cricut frame, Cuttlebug embossing, silk ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon,
handmade stick pin, Viva Decor gold accents, Copic markers, distress inks

I could not find my original image, but this is now available in a collage as "Fashionable Marvelous You".  I just love this elegant vintage image and felt the embossed frame made a really beautiful display.

Relax, Listen to Your Soul

After 30 days our internet problem is finally fixed!  I can't believe all the time it took to straighten out our issues.   We had a modem problem that was not detected and a weak signal from our service.  I will now breathe a sign of relief and be thankful this is behind me.

I have been making cards during all this fiasco, and did I mention I am also in the middle of a craft room renovation?  My elusive mojo arrived last night and I actually put together 3 cards.  Here is one I made last week using Create with TLC images:

card recipe:
"Relax, Listen to Your Soul" and vintage pin cushion image from TLC.  Bazzill and Georgia Pacific cardstock, design paper from my "stash".  Martha Stewart punch,  Spellbinders dies, Wild Orchid flower, distress inks and Recollection pearls.

I should heed this advice more often, my days are always full and I really need to budget my time better.

Halloween Howls and Pump-grins!

I thought that title would get your attention!  We are on the fast track to Halloween, all the stores are loading up with candy, costumes and decorations.  I love making Halloween cards, there are so many cute images and diecuts available to use and such gorgeous papers!  Today I have a card using Create with TLC images and design paper:

card recipe:
TLC Halloween Howls and Pump-grins, TLC design paper, Martha Stewart fence punch, Spellbinders dies, distress inks and Copic markers

I just love the two owls sitting on the branch and the howling tree with the black cat really give this an eerily delicious Halloween feel!  I am going to be making more Halloween cards and sharing them with you this month and next.

Coffee Anyone?

I don't know about everyone else, but caffeine is what gets my motor going in the mornings.  I've always said if I have a choice of something to eat for breakfast or coffee, coffee will win hands down every time!  I saw these delightful images at Create with TLC and thought it would be such fun to create a coffee collage!

card recipe:
digi image, sentiment and design paper from Create with TLC, Prima rose

This would be fun to share with your java buddies!  This was a lot of fun and quick to make.  I even used an old Spellbinder's die I "rediscovered".  I'm currently in the process of trying to redesign my craft room and finding some items I forgot I had.  I definitely need to have a craft sale and downsize my "stuff".

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!

New from Create with TLC

Happy Labor Day!  I have two new cards to share with you today with two new images from Create with TLC.   I haven't been on my blog very much lately, I've been wrestling with my internet for the last week, seems like this happens every few months when you live in a rural area.

card recipe:
TLC images: "How Great is the Love The Father" and "Casting All Your Care
Upon Him",  Cuttlebug embossing folder, Cheery Lynn doily, Copic
markers, distress inks, Prima flower, Recollection pearls

I am in a card minstry in our church and we always need ideas.  I usually "hand deliver" the cards we make to save on shipping so I can always add some extra embellishments.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today.  Thanks for stopping by, I love reading your comments and appreciate all your support!
