Crafters of Faith August Blog Hop

Well, sadly summer is officially over after today, it just seemed like it went by way too fast this year!   I have had a fabulous week at Pawley's Island in South Carolina and leaving for home in a few hours.  The weather was perfect and the ocean was just delicious.  The best part was spending time with my daughter, SIL and grandchildren.  This was the perfect way to say adieu to summer.

For this month's challenge, Kelly asked us to create a card honoring our mom or dad.  Her inspiration came from Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you."  My dad is still alive so I am honoring him today with a card I created based on his love for farming.

The background is from a Create with TLC image and the tractor is from a JPEG image I had in my files.  I don't believe my dad ever drove a tractor that old, but he did not have a canopy or luxuries of today's models.  I loved to ride up and down the rows with him whenever I got the chance.

Please take a moment  and visit my blogging sister's blogs and see their creations.  They are listed on my sidebar.  Wishing everyone a blessed day and a happy and safe Labor Day!

Whimsy and Stars Design Team Showcase Today!

Welcome to another Whimsy and Stars Design Team Showcase featuring a new digi image from the Whimsy and Stars Studio, "Ribbon Girl".   I am dedicating this to my mother, although she passed away almost two years ago, she was a breast cancer survivor.

Ribbon Girl

I colored Ribbon Girl with my Copics, cut her out and adhered her to an embossed background.  I added pearls made with a Viva Decor pen and a border from a Stampin Up punch.  The design paper is from Basic Grey's Porcelain collection.

Thanks for visiting today, please visit my design team sister's blogs and see their fabulous creations!  I hope you will leave a comment on the Whimsy and Stars blog, one lucky winner will receive a prize!

Whimsy and Stars Design Team Showcase Day!

Good morning!  What a great way to start a week with a Whimsy and Stars showcase!  Today designers and guest designers are showcasing new cards make from Mabelle's new digi, "Penelope".

My second oldest granddaughter turned 13 and I used this gorgeous image to make her birthday card.  I  again used My Mind's Eye "Hootenanny" design paper, isn't this just perfect for birthdays?  I colored Penelope with my copic markers and added a fun button I found in Michael's.

Thanks for visiting today, please visit my design team sister's blogs and see their fabulous creations!  I hope you will leave a comment on the Whimsy and Stars blog, one lucky winner will receive a prize!

Another Tiddly Inks Card

I just had to make one more Tiddly Inks card, my youngest grandson will be 5 this month and he's so excited about going to kindergarten!

This is the perfect image to celebrate his birthday.  He is just like a fish in the water and can't wait to come to "Gramie's" house to spend hours in the pool.

I colored with my Copic markers and used My Mind's Eye "Hootenanny" paper.  The button was in my stash and balanced the design.

So one more card before the Tiddly Inks DT challenge ends!  Thanks for visiting my blog today and have a happy August.
