Spring Ferret Fever!

I fell in love with this cute little ferret from Meljen Designs and decided he would look great on a side step card. I love trying new card techniques, so when I saw this type of card I knew I would be making one soon! I cut my card stock 6" x 12" so my ferret had to fit on a 2" wide panel. There are other sizes you can choose, just do a search for "side step cards".
I am entering my card in the current Flutterby Wednesday Challenge #100 - congratulations Danni!
My card is also eligible for entry in several other challenges:
Here is an angled view:
I had so much fun creating this card! The image is adorable and the side step design was a challenge. I used Bo Bunny design paper and Canson card stock. I decided to create a little outdoorsy scene so my "grass" was made with a Cuttlebug folder and a Martha Stewart punch. The wavy cut was created with a Creative Memories paper cutter. I love using buttons and the five on the bottom are strung with jute. A few dew drops and the essential butterflies complete the "picture"!
Copics:
E00, E25, E33, E35, E50, BG01, Y17, Y23, R05, R11 and R20.

Critter Sketch Challenge #5 hosted by Paper Jewels

I'm so excited to be posting another challenge card for the Critter Sketch Challenge! Our sponsor for the month is Paper Jewels and my card is created with one of the stamps she carries in her store, "Mimosa's Flower". Jenny carries quite a few of the Bildmalarna stamps and has recently added Sweet Pea stamps "Ching-Chou Kiuks" collection. I think I'll refer to them as Sweet Pea's "Fantasy Art Fairies and Mermaids" (much easier to spell and pronounce!).
My Mimosa card was created from the following sketch:
And here's my interpretation of the sketch:
My design paper is Basic Grey's "Lemonade" collection and my card stock is from SU. My flower was made with Spellbinder's Poinsettia die and I added a Prima Hydrangea and a button. I would list my Copic colors but while I was away from my desk, some little gremlin made off with my list!
Thanks for visiting and be sure to visit the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog to see what my design team mates have created!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Easter

I have two wonderful designs to show you today from Meljen's. I recently discovered her digital art and her website. She is also on Papercraft planet.
I just love the cute little bunny and chick:
I added lots of elements to the bunny, but I thought the design paper was cute for the chick that I only added a bow. All the dp is by DCWV. The dotted ribbon is from PTI. I used the following Copic markers:
Bunny:
R0000, R22, R20, R11, E000, C00, C1, RV95, V91, V15, V06
Chick:
Y0000, Y00, Y17, Y21, Y38, YR31, V95, V91, V15, V06, R22, R20, R11

Legend of the Dogwood

I want to share with you today "Legend of the Dogwood". I used three digital images from Sugar Creek Hollow to create my card, the legend, swirls and vine frame, and the dogwood flower. I made this in mind as an entry for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #44.
I wanted this to have a vintage look so I chose design paper from K & Company and My Mind's Eye, sponging PTI Chai and Chamomile on the edges. I sewed one of my layers to follow the sketch and added "pecan" colored ribbon. I did use Copic Markers to color my flowers: R11, R20, YG11 and YG95. I sponged PTI Chamomile on them to make them look "vintagey". My card stock is from SU and Canson.
I think I might frame this and give away as a present this Easter!

p.s. I realized after posting that this looked a little dark, went in and edited my photo.
