Happy Anniversary

I just want to post a very special "Happy Anniversary" wish to my parents, Franklin and Mary Williams. They have been married for 59 years as of July 29, 2009. I am so very, very blessed to still have both of my parents and I love and appreciate them so much. My husband and I took my parents out for dinner on their anniversary and I made them a special card:
They were both in the armed forces during War Word II. My dad was a sailor in the Navy and my mom was a nurse in the Army Nurse Corps. They met at a little drive-in not far from their hometown and I think it was love at first sight! They married in 1950 and two years later I was born.

Flourished Christian Symbols

Today I have another sympathy card I created with Our Daily Bread's set, "Flourished Christian Symbols". I used design paper from DCWV and nestabilities labels 4. I stamped the cross with Versamark, then applied gold embossing powder. My inside sentiment, Ecclesiastes 3:1 is stamped on the largest labels 4 diecut . Please let me know what you think!

Our Daily Bread Designs "Grow In Grace"

Well, here it is. This is the card I was working on this weekend that I am not satisifed with. I decided to post it today because I love this particular stampset and the sentiments that go with it. I colored with my Prismacolors and used nesties and an EK Success punch for my border. And, by the way, when you cut out this border, the "scraps" can also be used to decorate the card!
I don't think my colors came out exact, and this darn computer ha s crashed so many times that I have not calibrated the color lately. Please leave a comment and especially any suggestions you might have on how to improve this card! Hugs, Marsha

It's About Time!

Well, if you are reading my blog you're probably wondering if I disappeared off the face of the earth! Nothing quite as drastic, but certainly an insane summer. I have been busy preparing for our first card ministry get together at my church this Thursday. Here are two of the cards we will be making. The first card is from Our Daily Bread Designs, Flourished Christian Symbols set. I wanted this to be simple but elegant. The cross was stamped with Versamark and then I used gold embossing power and my heating tool. I added gold card stock from Canson and then I embossed my white layer with my Cuttlebug embossing folder "Textile". I then stamped a verse from Ephesians 3:1, "to everything there is a season..." My next card was created with a Papertrey Ink set, This set is from last year's anniversary edition. I used the same Cuttlebug embossing folder and used cognac from Palette Ink to stamp my medallions. The punch is from SU and the rest of my materials are odds and ends. Wish us luck on our first get together!

Presenting...

Emma Grace Hendricks Emma was born on 7/09/09, 10:26 a.m. She weighs 9lbs 6oz and is 20 inches long. She and her mother, Betsy are doing just fine. She is being held in the picture by her proud Grampie, a.k.a. "Grumpy". She already has those cute little rolls of "baby fat" and a double chin. I can't wait until dd return home and I get some real cuddle time! Apology for Lack of Cards

I apologize for not posting any new cards lately. This has been quite a summer! My laptop has crashed 5 times this summer and yes, I am using it as I speak. I told dh that if it crashes one more time it is toast! I have also been busy reorganizing my craft room. I finally convinced myself to get rid of tons of old exercise VHS tapes. The newly acquired space has now been converted to holding what else? part of my collection of stamps - wonderful stamps! I will post some pictures of my new space once I am finished.

Hopefully I will have some new cards to publish soon on my blog - I also forgot to mention my four grandchildren, dd and sil were here last week.

Birthday Card to Share

Hi everyone, I have not been as chatty on my blog lately - I have grandchildren running out of my ears right now and loving every minute! My oldest granddaughter turned nine last week and I chose my Princess Anya and Unicorn from The Greeting Farm to make this birthday card. I cannot remember where I purchased the castle - that was a digital download. I colored with my copics and used lavender stickles on Ayna's dress. This was so much fun to create and Olivia loved her card! Please leave a comment if you like. Well, I'm off to the pool now!
